Have a regular place for things and put them back when you’re done with them:
For example, your keys, always place them in the same place when you enter the house, this means when you leave you know exactly where they are, the same goes for glasses and your dog lead. If you develop this habit, it means you can grab and go, rather than spending an extra 5 minutes in the morning trying to remember where you’ve put the key to get out of the house!
Re-learn how to focus:
Many of us waste a lot of time just because we’re distracted by too many things going on at once – sometimes multi-tasking isn’t a good thing. Getting into the habit of focusing on the task in hand means you’re concentrating solely on one job before you move on to something else. It’s a great way to save time on a daily basis.
Use a calendar – record everything you need to do and when you need to do it:
It doesn’t matter whether your chosen calendar is digital or paper – check out the blog below to help you decide if you think digital or paper works best for you. Either way, you need to create and maintain the information logically in one place. This ensures you don’t miss anything important and it serves as a to-do list. Using a calendar that can travel with you is a real time saver compared with having 5 separate lists and locations for tasks.
Keep procrastination to a minimum:
Whilst procrastination in itself isn’t bad. What’s bad is what happens to whatever you’re procrastinating about when you do it. Trying to keep this to a minimum this will not only save time, but makes it much easier on yourself too.
Routine is the number one way to save time in daily life:
If you know what you’re doing and when, you can keep the wasted time to a minimum. This all comes with planning. Be sure to make time in the week for planning ahead. Routine will certainly make it easier to find things and get things done, whilst freeing the brain for other things.
